John Akomfrah OBE

Ghanaian-born UK Artist, writer, film director, screenwriter, film-critic and theorist, John Akomfrah is a founding member of Smoking Dogs Productions and Black Audio Film Collective. Winner of the prestigious Grierson Award for be Best Documentary Film Handsworths Songs 1986, and the first Robeson Prize for Best African Diasora film at FESPACO 1987, among many accolades world wide.
